The Ultimate Book Tag

It’s been a while since I’ve done a tag and there’s no time like the present! I wasn’t tagged to do this but the questions were fun so I decided to do it. I found this tag on The Bibliophile Girl’s blog, you can check it out here!

Do You Get Sick While Reading In The Car?

I have never read in the car so I don’t know… A magazine or something I can cope with but I think a novel would be too hard to endure.

Which Author’s Writing Style Is Completely Unique To You And Why?

Jaqueline Wilson, the British children’s author, really stands out to me. Her writing combines description and plot so well that I never notice it! I’ve not read one of her books, fully, for years. Yet now I look back I can see why I enjoyed her.

Harry Potter or Twilight? Give 3 Reasons Why.

Harry Potter has better writing, no love triangles (for the most part) and cute animals. I have problems with both series but I think Twilight is awful compared to Harry Potter. But somehow the cheesy, trashy romance is a fun book to reread?

Do You Carry A Book Bag? If So, What’s In It (Besides Books)?

No, but if I have a bag with me it will have a book in it.

Do You Smell Your Books?

Of course! The second-hand books are always best.

Books With or Without Illustrations?

Without please – I don’t like my imagination being restricted!

What Book Did You Love While Reading, But Discovered Later It Wasn’t Quality Writing?

Twilight and Shatter Me…

Do You Have Any Funny Stories Involving Books From Your Childhood?

I wrote fan-fiction for Hetty Feather all the damn time but made myself a character in the plot… When the author continued the series I was disappointed to not be the protagonist 😂

What Is The Thinnest Book On Your Shelf?

iCount – Your Step By Step Guide To Climate Bliss (only 80 pages!)

What Is the Thickest Book On Your Shelf?

The Goldfinch – Donna Tartt (863 pages!)

Do You Write As Well As Read? Do You See Yourself Being An Author In the Future?

My friend and I are working on a children’s book at the moment! I’m doing most of it, but having someone to contribute ideas is always helpful.

What Is Your Favourite Classic Book?

Wuthering Heights or Great Expectations! I can’t get into classic novels, but these two were really enjoyable.

When Did You Get Into Reading?

I’ve always loved it, but I became labelled a bookworm about two years ago! Before then I was only reading 30-50 books a year.

What Was Your Best Subject In School?

I’m at an even level in every subject really, but English is the most intriguing and French is by far the easiest!

If You Were Given A Book As A Present That You Read Before And Hated, What Would You Do?

Accept it, then donate it to charity shop. If they cared enough to ask me my thoughts on it then of course I would be honest!

What Is A Lesser Known Series That You Know Of That Is Similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?

Delirium by Lauren Oliver is very similar to The Hunger Games, except there aren’t any Hunger Games!

Is Harry Potter comparable to anything? I don’t think I know of a series similar to it, but there are definitely stand-alones.

What Is A Bad Habit You Always Do (Besides Rambling) While Filming?

As many times as I have attempted YouTube, sadly I haven’t pulled through.

What Is Your Favorite Word?

Give me a word and it will become my favourite!

Are You A Nerd, Dork, or Dweeb?

I did have to search these terms up, so perhaps I’m a dummy 😆 I don’t think I am any of them, but dork fits me from the definition!

Vampires of Fairies? Why?

Vampires all the way! I have never enjoyed fantasy so my understanding of fairies isn’t great, that’s why I prefer vampires. And I don’t mean soft, Twilight vampires – more like brutal Dracula vampires!

Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?

Probably shape-shifters, but I’ve not read many books on them.

Spirits or Werewolves? Why?

Spirits can take all sorts of forms in a novel, and as the category is broader I much prefer them to werewolves!

Zombies or Vampires? Why?

I think vampires win on this one, purely because I have not read a single book about zombies!

Love Triangles or Forbidden Love?

Love triangles can be fun if they are written well (but in most cases they aren’t) and forbidden love can also be interesting. These two themes work especially well in dystopian fiction!

Full on Romance Books Or Action-Packed With A Few Love Scenes?

A good mix is healthy. Too much romance and your heart goes mushy, too much action and daily life becomes boring!

      • Ah I just looked that up and I really want to read it now! I’ve not read many books that feature mental health, the only one I can think of is Finding Audrey, I think it’s so important to feature mental health in books and tv as it makes it easier for people to open up and talk about it. I’m definitely going to add it to my TBR list 📚

      • Let me know your thoughts on it! Weirdly enough, I picked up Finding Audrey from the library a few days ago. Once I’ve finished my current read, I’m definitely going to check it out. Thank you so much for your comment 🙂
