Bookish Rambles | Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn

Hello! Welcome back to my blog.

It’s been a while since the last ‘Bookish Rambles’. You are in need of an update! You may be aware of my recent reads, from my Instagram story. So, let’s talk about the Twilight saga: the books, films and which are better (the books, obviously, that’s no surprise 😂). It took me under a month to read them all. From the middle of May until the 5th June. Considering all of them are over 300 pages (with one 700 pages) I think is an achievement. However, I do get through books rapidly!

It was the other night when I watched all the films with my best friend. I always try to read the books prior to the films, and I do keep quite strictly to that rule.

Anyways, Twilight (book one)

The first book was really good to did my teeth into. I think it took less than three days to read it. It was a great introduction to the characters, accompanied by a bit of action. I love looking back to this book, and how far Bella and Edward progressed with their relationship (no spoilers!).

A character I really love is Alice. I could imagine her a great mother, though she sadly won’t get that chance 😓. I grew quite attached to her, so anything that put her in danger made me anxious.

To begin with, I didn’t like Jacob. I thought he was selfish and ignorant – though the last book and film changed my opinion. Though, I still don’t forgive him for showing off in front of Edward and pining after Bella. She really did not need that drama in her (already complicated) life!

My Summer Bucketlist 2019

Hello, welcome back to my blog!

I don’t know if you are aware of the American Youtuber: Haley Pham. A couple of weeks ago she released a video called ‘My Summer Bucketlist’ and I was really intrigued. She complied a list, in her bullet journal, of what she wanted to do with her long summer break. I actually have a couple of weeks left of school so my list will not be as long. Also, I am very busy in August time so that’s nearly a month gone. Still, there are a few things I am eager to do this holiday.

1. Go to a theme park (with a friend)

There is a theme park near me that I have not attended in my whole life. This may be an expensive one, but I would really love to go. Hopefully, with a friend who knows their way around 😂 as many of them do!

2. Camp in the garden

This one is quite achievable. A tent, books and board games! I’d definitely do one night solo and then another with a friend.

This photo is totally unrelated but I wanted to use it somewhere 😂

3. Go on a few evening bike rides

They are my favourite thing to do when the weather is warmer. Hopefully I’ll manage to do a few of them before I head off to all my Guide camps and Menorca!

Monthly Playlist | June (Collaboration With Maryam @ infinitelyadaydreamer)

Despite playing the cello, I am obsessed with Indie Rock music. You would expect a classical instrumentalist to enjoy the likes of Beethoven but my favourite bands are Arctic Monkeys and The Vaccines. Today I am sharing with you my favourite modern Indie tunes which I have been listening to this month!

This post has been written in collaboration with my blogging friend, Maryam. The posts on infinitelyadaydreamer consist of thoughtful articles on social problem/debates, very aesthetic lifestyle posts and weekly motivation! I hope you can go and check out the music post she wrote on her blog.

Now, let’s get in with the playlist!

Holy Mountain [Explicit] – Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

I didn’t have very high expectations for this album. Nothing can beat the original Oasis, but Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are so good!

Are You Gonna Be My Girl – Jet

Let us just appreciate the guitar skills in this song 👏

Chelsea Dagger – The Fratellis

*starts bouncing up and down on the bed* I love the vocals in this. It’s a proper ‘band’ song, if you get what I mean?

Rainbow Ice-Cream and Books With Gay Protagonists

Hello, welcome back to my blog! In celebration of pride month, I would like to share with you a book I have recently read called Noah Can’t Even. The main protagonist is socially awkward and figuring out his sexuality. I think it’s a brilliant read. Apparently there is a sequel, so I will have to look into it. I personally got very attached to Noah!

Today I indulged myself in an ice-cream, for which I have no regrets. It was the creamiest ice-cream I have ever eaten. Ever.

The reason I decided to get it was because of the cone. Maybe you’ve realised by now that I get very excited by pride month. However, I think that the LGBTQIA community should be celebrated all year round. It does make me smile when people get less judgemental of the community. Societies are gradually getting less and less homophobic (woo-hoo!). I don’t have much experience with transgender people (I don’t know any) so I can’t really talk about that subject. I’ll have to educate myself before sharing any thoughts on the Internet 😊

And as for me, I’m too young to decide my sexuality. I don’t like to be labelled as ‘straight’ ‘bisexual’ ‘lesbian’. Love is love. I’ve never been in a serious relationship so I don’t know who I’m attracted to. And that’s that.

I would love to hear some love stories in the comments 😉 Romance is becoming my favourite genre 😂

Have a great month 🏳️‍🌈
