Turned Back

She spoke and smiled, but then he turned his back.

She woke and smiled, but then he turned his back.

She broke and smiled, but then he turned his back.

She cried.

He lied.

And then she turned his back.

Poetry was something that I never enjoyed doing in school. The stigma of it having to be upbeat, rhyming and toddler friendly scared me off the subject. When I started blogging, I started reading a lot more blogs too. I found poets, young and old, and fell in love with poetry for the first time. My age group is not keen on it at all, I would like to teach them that it is not all nursery rhymes.
